About the Authors

Karen Green

I have a BA degree in advertising from California State University of Fullerton. My higher education is in the field of Naturopathy from Clayton College where I studied the systems of the body, brain and heart and how to keep them alert, strong and healthy.

I have been working with children for many years. I am a mother of eight and so I spent countless hours in children’s classrooms and with my children at home.

During reading time, I noticed the books that all the kids fought over were the search and find books. There would be groups of children all looking onto one book, pointing to a picture, and trying to find the object first. Kids are natural born Clue Hunters!

I started making games for them that I would hand draw and ask the kids to remember what I had drawn and to find it. They wanted to play my games over and over! Their eagerness led me to start preparing small games before I would visit their classrooms. All of the children would love to see the new games I would bring each time I came to class.

So, I decided to take these games and create books and games for everyone to enjoy!

My mom and dad kept me well stocked and supplied with all kinds of different books; search and find books and chapter books and picture books. Eventually, I also got turned on to video games - where my books could come to life!

When my mom told me about her idea for The Clue Hunter series, I was so excited about it and I just had to be a part of it. I saw the potential of not just a great book series that kids could hide under the blankets late at night and enjoy like I used to, but also a wonderful game that you could play over and over again with your friends.

I have been working with computers since I was a kid, and now I'm a game designer and web developer - so I decided that I could help my mom by creating a fun website and designing The Clue Hunter online game and app.
